Saying Thank You Without Words: 5 Ways
No CommentsThough a simple thank you can do a lot, it’s not that creative and really doesn’t require you to make any effort. A gesture friends, employees, family, coworkers and lovers will appreciate is when you go the extra mile to say thank you without relying on words. Here are 5 tips to get you started.
1. Mail A Handwritten Thank You Card: Nobody uses the mail to communicate anymore, but it’s a great way to say thank you to someone. Simply purchase a small box of thank you cards from your local pharmacy or from Target, write a short note that is sweet and heartfelt and mail the card off. When your recipient receives a piece of real mail, they will be so glad that you did.
2. Scrap booking: This is an extremely personal way to say thanks you, but for the right person, it will have a huge impact. For friends, relatives, or lovers, you can create a scrapbook of memories for the person to look through and reflect on. You can purchase scrap booking kits online through Target, the Home Shopping Network, or even Joann’s.
3. A Special Day Of Treatment: Another great way to say thank you without words is to give the person the gift of some sort of outing that they generally speaking would not ordinarily purchase for themselves. For example, you could purchase a day at the spa, theater tickets, movie tickets, sports tickets, concert tickets, or even a vacation package. All of these are great ways to say thank you and to encourage that special person.
Want to pamper your best friend? Babysit her children for the day while she goes out, or go on a mini weekend road trip together and leave spouses and children at home. To make the pampering day a perfect thank you, take out your spouse or friend for dinner and pick up the tab.
4. Awards: Awards are a great and lasting way to say thank you to someone and work well in professional environments. Host an awards luncheon and give out plaques and honors there in front of the entire company, or at least a division of the company. Not only will the recipient feel good, but they will have a lasting memory of gratitude to hold on to.
Though this works best in a professional environment, it can also work well in a personal environment too. Purchase a plaque for your parents, friends, or spouse that says greatest such in such. They will be really appreciative and will probably hold on to that little memento forever.
5. Say It with Flowers: Flowers are colorful, fragrant and a beautiful way of saying you care. They are a perfect way of showing gratitude or respect for someone’s Birthday, holidays, weddings, funerals or the birth of a new baby. Sending flowers from 1-800-flowers shows you care enough to go the extra mile. To send flowers as a permanent gift or for someone more environmentally friendly send a flowering plant. Balloons, food or fruit gift baskets, gourmet tea, wine and cheese baskets available at 1-800-flowers allow you even more ways to say thank you.
Sheila Dollarsby likes to say thank you with Thank You Cards and Flowers. She usually sends flowers to co-workers and to her mother with 1800 Flowers. The people at 1800 Flowers make sure that the arrangements are always fresh and delivered on time to the right people.
