How To Get That Second Date: 5 Tips For Dating Well After A Breakup

When you start going back on the dating scene, the usual first worry is how to get dates. Then, you’ll find date after date after another, and you worry how to get a second date. Successfully getting a second date can usually come from practice – the more dates you’ll had, the more chances of improving. But if you’re looking for a bit of a leg up, follow these five tips and be assured; the next time you get to take a lady out, there will surely be a second date.

1) Be on time. Don’t be 30 minutes early. Don’t be a half hour late. Be on time even if you have to drive around her block a few times or park around the corner while you wait. It’s a small touch that will mean a lot more to her than you realize.

2) Tell her about yourself. A first date is an opportunity for her to find out if there’s something about you that will interest her enough; to make her want to go out with you again. Don’t clam up and make single-word responses. Tell her about yourself but not too much that might scare her away.

3) Have a plan ready for the date. It is polite to ask your date what she wants to do for the night. It just shows you’re thoughtful enough to think of what she wants. However, if you’re asking the question because you really have nothing planned for the evening and want her to make the decisions, chances are there won’t be a second date. The point of the date is to make the both of you learn a little bit about each other, and not trying to figure out where you’re going.

4) Show an interest in her. Ask questions about her. Listen to her responses and ask follow up questions. Be interested in what she has to say. It will flatter her because odds are good she’s coming out of a relationship too and may feel as though men in general aren’t interested in what she has to say. Be the man who is interested and she’ll be much more willing to go on a second date with you.

5) Initiate the second date. Don’t wait for her to bring it up, or call you. Of course, you don’t have to be too eager and ask for a second date halfway through your first, but the point is the asker has to be you. Most women do not make the first move. So, if you want to get to know her a little bit better and are angling for a second date, ask. If you want to play it safe, don’t do the asking during the date. Call her a day or two after. That way, you both get some time to think whether a second date is what you both want.

Sometimes you’ll decide that you’re not really interested in a second date. What you’d rather have is a second chance. Do you want to know how to get your girlfriend back? I can help you with that.
